One of the techniques we can use to restore missing teeth is known as a dental bridge. A dental bridge literally “bridges” the gap between two teeth. In a traditional bridge, a false tooth is placed in the empty socket left by the missing tooth and secured to the nearby teeth with dental crowns. They can also be created by securing the false tooth to dental implants or to the natural teeth. Bridges can last many years with good at-home hygiene and regular visits to the dentist.
The Benefits of Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are a comfortable, affordable, and aesthetically pleasing option for replacing missing teeth and restoring a full bite and smile. Bridges are typically created from porcelain or porcelain fused to metal, materials which allow us to match the colour of the natural teeth. A dental bridge also tends to feel very secure and comfortable in the mouth, allowing a person with tooth loss to completely regain full function of that area of the mouth.
How We Fit Dental Bridges
Fitting dental bridges is something we are highly familiar with at Tuscany Dental Centre. Dental bridges require two separate visits to our Calgary dental office. At your first appointment, we will prepare your teeth for the bridge and take digital impressions that will help a dental laboratory create a perfectly fitted crown. We will also fit you with a temporary bridge while your permanent bridge is being created. Once your bridge is ready, we will call you back to fit the new restoration into your mouth and secure it
